Corpus is about an important collection of texts, especially if complete and self-contained: the corpus of Anglo-Saxon verse. Plural also corpuses. In linguistics and lexicography, a body of texts, utterances, or other specimens considered more or less representative of a language, and usually stored as an electronic database. At this time, computer corpora may store millions of running words, whose features can be analyzed by means of tagging (the addition of identifying and classifying tags to words and other formations) and the use of concordancing programs. Corpus linguistics studies data in any such corpus.
If a textbook is Corpus based, we know that it is a good textbook. The importance is that Corpus gives lots of information like frequency. So, it means that the textbook has information related to the current language, language that native speakers use.
In my opinion, corpus is really important for us as future teachers because that can help us know what to teach in terms of being natural, being in a real world, it is about teaching frequent words. Most of the schools show the way that children are learning many things that are not useful for them. The thing is that we, as future teachers, have to be responsible with our job without making the same.
